A Historic Moment
Like proud parents with a newborn, we traveled a well worn path. Only a perfect name would do. The moment at hand suggested continuity and identity, but most of all, change. Carroll County General Hospital is growing. As a result, we have outgrown our original name and today we become Carroll Hospital Center. A new name yes, but the same caring network of medical professionals with a wider array of diagnostic services, treatment options and patient support systems than ever before.
At this historic juncture, truly a watershed moment in our evolution, we proudly acknowledge our many partners, past and present. People from all walks of life, donors, physicians, nurses, construction workers, aides, staff and volunteers, have worked tirelessly to establish and strengthen an enduring institution and to further enhance our community’s way of life. We simply could not have done this without you.
Long in the planning, this expansion supports a cherished ideal at the very core of our mission and arises from the center of medicine itself – to comfort always. From the Family Birth Place, to Carroll Hospice, to The Women’s Place and now to our newly expanded Emergency Department, and new four story private patient bed tower, Carroll Hospital Center broadens our commitment, and re-affirms our promise to deliver an unsurpassed, compassion based, extraordinary level of care.
Our vigorous pursuit of excellence reaches across all dimensions of modern health care. Carroll Hospital Center’s transformation to a regional medical center has brought national recognition and has rightfully earned us the only currency upon which our hospital truly depends – the confidence and trust of those we serve.
The future is not a hazy outline in the distance. The future is here – directly in front of us with its own unique challenges and extraordinary opportunities. We have more than met the test. The stories and the people that made it all possible appear in the pages that follow. It’s one heck of a story. Enjoy.
